Support the Museum

The Railroad Museum of South Florida relies on the generosity of friends and supporters to help fulfill our mission to build interpretive programs and exhibits, preserve railroad history, and provide high-quality services to our  guests.  Individuals and corporations can contribute to the Museum in a variety of ways. We encourage you to contact our non-profit Railroad Museum for information on planned giving, in-kind donations, and memorial donations or to discuss your individual needs.  We can be reached at (239) 267-1905.
We have outlined our categories of giving below, and we hope you will choose to make a contribution in whichever way suits your interests and needs. Mailing address listed below.  Please choose from the following:

“In Honor Of”:

Celebrate your loved one’s passion for railroading with a gift in honor or in memory. The contribution you make will be recognized with a card informing the person you are honoring that you have made a generous contribution to the Museum in his or her name.

“In Memory Of”:

Remember someone who appreciated railroading during his or her lifetime with a memorial gift to the Museum. Your tribute will be recognized with a gift card to the family or friends you designate.

Preserve the ACL 143 steam locomotive:

This Baldwin Locomotive Works 0-6-0 built in 1905 and operated by the Atlantic Coast Line is an historic engine which resides with its accompanying caboose just outside our museum. A gift can be earmarked specifically for maintaining this piece of South Florida railroad history.

Become a “Member”:

For 2019, if you become a Member of the Railroad Museum, we are offering a number of incentives to encourage you to join us in helping to provide a rich and varied educational and entertainment experience to tens of thousands of visitors each year.  Please see the levels of benefits below and join us by completing an application which can be picked up at the museum or requested by calling the Museum at 239-267-1905.

All members will enjoy free entry into the museum.  All free rides are available when the train is operating during normal scheduled hours with regular paying riders on board.  The “Hands-on” lessons and opportunity to drive the train are by appointment only and only available to those 14 or older (14 – 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).  All Memberships are for the year (or years) from date of purchase.

$25.00 – 1 Year Individual:

  • 4 free rides during the year.
  • Railroad Decal or Coffee Mug*

$50.00 – 1 Year Family:

  • 4 free rides during the year.
  • Railroad Decal and Coffee Mug*

$100.00 – 5 Year Individual: 

  • 4 free train rides each year, plus 2 free “Halloween/Holiday Express” tickets.
  • Railroad Decal and Coffee Mug*
  • Also a choice of 1 of the following:
    • Vintage Engineer Cap* (M or L)
    • Railroad Kerchief*
    • Railroad T-Shirt* (S – M – L – XL)

$200.00 – 5 Year Family:

  • 4 free train rides each year, plus 4 free “Halloween/Holiday Express” tickets.
  • Railroad Decal and Coffee Mug*
  • Also a choice of 2of the following:
    • Vintage Engineer Cap* (M or L)
    • Railroad Kerchief*
    • Railroad T-Shirt* (S – M – L – XL)

$500.00 – Life-Time Individual:

  • 8 free rides each year plus 4 free “Halloween/Holiday Express” tickets each year.*
  • Once each year, by appointment, a ‘hands-on’ lesson and opportunity to drive the train (up to an hour long).
  • Railroad Decal and Coffee Mug*
  • Also a choice of 2 of the following:

  • Once each year, by appointment, a ‘hands-on’ lesson and opportunity to drive the train (up to an hour long).

$5000.00 – Life-Time Benefactor:

  • 10 free rides each year plus 10 free “Halloween/Holiday Express” tickets each year.*
  • Once each year, by appointment, a ‘hands-on’ lesson and opportunity to drive the train (up to an hour long).
  • Once each year, by appointment, an after-hours private tour of the museum and train ride for up to 14 people.
  • Railroad Decal and Railroad Kerchief *

The Railroad Museum of South Florida, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to collecting, preserving, and presenting the railroads of America, particularly the unique history of Florida’s railroads.

* Upon receipt of your membership a “Swag Bag,” with your rewards, will be readied and available during normal business hours.  Just stop by and ask the Ticket Agent. All items (including Train tickets) must be picked up at the Museum Ticket Office.

** The Museum is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Donations are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.  Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.
